Kate Altmann

Senior Part II Architectural Assistant

Kate joined Mikhail Riches in 2019 and has been working on a range of projects from large scale masterplanning at Bridgewater Triangle to the zero carbon post graduate housing at Owlstone Croft in Cambridge.

Kate graduated from Cambridge and later became the Bass Fellow in Architecture at Yale University where she gained her Master’s. Kate’s research has focused on the possibility of fostering community inclusion for individuals with mental illness through housing-based interventions. While at Yale, Kate was a founder of the Yale Mental Health Symposium, a collaboration across the university which seeks to promote interdisciplinary dialogue surrounding mental health and the built environment.

Kate’s interest in mental health and wellbeing has led her to becoming responsible for the practice’s EDI and mentoring scheme. Kate is experienced in design code writing for outline planning applications.
