We won 2 design competitions to deliver housing on 3 sites as part of Hackney Council’s Housing Supply Programme. The schemes, on former garage sites, provide 113 new homes of mixed tenure, 2 commercial spaces and playgrounds and landscaping for new and existing residents. 62% of the homes will be affordable. At Buckland Street 54 homes are contained within 3 villas, whose scalloped facade conserves existing pollarded plane street trees and creates generous balconies overlooking a shared garden and play space. At Wimbourne Street we have provided 59 homes on 2 separate sites across the street. Large specimen trees are retained and a new playground and landscaped entrance to the adjacent tower creates improvements for all surrounding residents.
