Sophie Cole

Associate

Since joining Mikhail Riches in 2017, Sophie has led on several housing projects, including sites for the Hackney Housing Delivery Programme, and the mixed-use regeneration of Wolverton town centre. Most recently she has been working with the City of York Council on their ambitious Housing Delivery Programme, providing Passivhaus homes in Zero Carbon neighbourhoods.

Sophie graduated from The University of Westminster with a Distinction and First Class Honours at Manchester School of Architecture. Before joining Mikhail Riches, she worked at Studio Bark and AY Architects running private residential projects, one of which was shortlisted for the Stephen Lawrence Prize. Sophie also worked on one of the first Passivhaus schools in the country during her time at Architype. Sophie guest critted at The Bartlett and The University of Westminster and has taken on mentoring roles at both the RCA and LSA.

Sophie also often represents the Practice at industry events and training sessions, particularly those with a focus on building to Zero Carbon and Passivhaus standards.
